A superb article about the loss of the old quarters of Beijing is a story of loss, of change, of rapacious capitalism, front page play indeed. Just the sort of off-the-news, in-depth reporting that can make newspapers relevant again.
But on www.iht.com it gets the headline below and is relegated to the Travel and Dining Section.
That's two very different plays, neatly illustrating how stories are regarded on www.iht.com where it did not make the home page headlines.
